Baccarat Regulations
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards that are valued under 10 are counted at their printed number while at the same time ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they purely act as the two hands to be dealt).
Two hands of 2 cards will then be given to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for every hand is the sum of the two cards, but the first digit is dumped. For example, a hand of seven and 5 results in a tally of two (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A 3rd card may be given depending on the foll. rules:
- If the player or banker has a total of eight or 9, then both bettors stand.
- If the bettor has 5 or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the two scores will be the winner. Successful stakes on the banker pay out 19 to twenty (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and paid out when you leave the table so ensure you have $$$$$ remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to one. Winning bets for tie commonly pay out 8 to 1 but on occasion 9 to one. (This is a terrible bet as ties happen lower than 1 every 10 hands. Avoid placing bets on a tie. Even so odds are exceedingly better – nine to one vs. eight to one)
When played effectively, baccarat provides fairly decent odds, apart from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Strategy
As with just about all games, Baccarat has some common false impressions. 1 of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is not an indicator of future results. Monitoring of last conclusions on a chart is for sure a total waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most commonly used and probably most successful strategy is the one-three-two-6 concept. This method is used to increase successes and reducing risk.
Begin by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third gamble, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a total of 6 on the fourth gamble.
If you lose on the first bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Coming out on top on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Thus you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
