Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards under ten are of their printed value and on the other hand ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they merely portray the two hands to be dealt).

Two hands of two cards shall then be dealt to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for every hand will be the grand total of the two cards, but the first digit is dropped. For e.g., a hand of seven as well as 5 produces a value of two (sevenplus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card may be played depending on the following codes:

- If the gambler or banker has a total score of eight or 9, the two players stand.

- If the bettor has 5 or less, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the player hits, a chart shall be used to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two scores will be the winner. Victorious wagers on the banker pay out nineteen to 20 (even money minus a five percent commission. Commission is kept track of and moved out when you leave the table so make sure that you have dollars left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie usually pay out eight to 1 but on occasion nine to 1. (This is a bad gamble as ties will happen less than one every ten hands. Run away from betting on a tie. Still, odds are somewhat better – 9 to 1 vs. 8 to 1)

Played correctly, baccarat offers generally decent odds, apart from the tie wager obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with every games, Baccarat has some well-known myths. One of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future events. Tracking of prior results on a chart is for sure a waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most accepted and possibly most successful strategy is the 1-3-two-6 scheme. This schema is used to build up profits and limiting risk.

start by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract four so you have 2 on the third bet. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum total of 6 on the 4th gamble.

If you lose on the initial bet, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Getting a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Thus you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
