Baccarat Protocols

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards with less than a value of ten are worth their printed number and on the other hand 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they strictly depict the two hands to be dealt).

2 hands of 2 cards are then given out to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for any hand will be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For eg, a hand of seven and five gives a value of 2 (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card may be dealt depending on the following codes:

- If the player or banker has a tally of eight or 9, the two gamblers stand.

- If the bettor has 5 or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the player hits, a chart might be used in order to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the 2 scores wins. Winning bets on the banker pay 19 to 20 (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is kept track of and moved out when you leave the table so make sure to have dollars left over before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie typically pay out eight to 1 but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a bad gamble as ties occur less than 1 every 10 hands. Avoid laying money on a tie. Regardless odds are substantially better – nine to one versus 8 to 1)

When done smartly, baccarat provides pretty decent odds, apart from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Strategy

As with most games, Baccarat has some established myths. 1 of which is very similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way a predictor of future outcomes. Staying abreast of previous outcomes on a chart is definitely a total waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most common and possibly most successful technique is the one-three-2-6 concept. This technique is used to amplify payouts and lowering risk.

Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away four so you have two on the third wager. If you win the third wager, add two to the 4 on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th bet.

If you don’t win on the initial wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. In other words you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
