Baccarat Protocols
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards which are of a value less than 10 are worth face value whereas ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they purely symbolize the two hands to be dealt).
Two hands of two cards will now be given out to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand will be the sum of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is dropped. For e.g., a hand of seven … five produces a total score of 2 (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).
A third card can be given out depending on the following practices:
- If the gambler or banker has a tally of eight or nine, the two players stand.
- If the gambler has five or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the gambler hits, a chart might be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the 2 scores is the winner. Winning wagers on the banker pay 19 to twenty (even money less a five % commission. Commission is kept track of and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure you have dollars left over before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie commonly pay 8 to 1 and occasionally nine to one. (This is a bad wager as ties occur lower than one every ten hands. Stay away from placing bets on a tie. Even so odds are richly better – nine to one versus eight to 1)
When played properly, baccarat provides relatively decent odds, aside from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Strategy
As with all games, Baccarat has some established misconceptions. One of which is very similar to a roulette misconception. The past is surely not a predictor of future happenings. Keeping track of prior results on a chart is definitely a total waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most commonly used and probably most successful method is the one-three-2-six technique. This technique is used to boost payouts and cutting back risk.
commence by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away four so you have two on the third wager. If you win the 3rd gamble, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a total of 6 on the fourth wager.
If you don’t win on the initial bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Winning at all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Thus that you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
